Dangers of tanning without lotion?

Are there any dangers to not using lotion? I find the lotions to be a hassle to apply and have on me afterwards. Thanks!

You run the risk of purchasing more packages to get the tan you would have gotten if you had used lotion from the beginning.

Lotion is essential to the process as it makes them more efficient. More light can penetrate making you tanner faster. It also conditions skin and replenishes essential moisture and elements lost during tanning.

Moist skin tans best.Why spend the money on tanning if your not going to do it the proper way?
