Rep Power: 0 | Re: Lumiere (Anyone making money?) We've started the promoting/marketing of our Lumiere this past week and so far I've been pleased with the results. We've sold two intensive regimes and one EFT plan. I followed Tom's pricing suggestion on the EFT. I ordered 50 of the DVD's that RAI produced explaining the Lumiere and we give them out to interested customers to take home and review at their leisure. The DVD's must be returned so we put their names on a list...which of course gives us the opportunity to engage them again. I'm also going to edit the Lumiere Tranining Manual (with RAI's permission) and offer it as a sales aid because in my opinion its a great selling tool for those customers who want detailed info on the Lumiere, the technology behind it, the regimes, what to expect, etc. That's how we unexpectedly sold our first intensive regime. I made copies of the training manual for each or our front desk people and made it mandatory reading cover to cover before they were allowed to sell the product. One of the girls brought the training manual home to read. Her mother saw it, started to leaf through it and evidently 'borrowed' if from her daughter and read the entire manual. She came in last week and signed up for an intensive regime. She said after she read the manual she just had to try it. Ric |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: Lumiere (Anyone making money?) Yes, we tried with the 6 session starter as well, but due to several factors we droped that one: 1.) The differance in price over a 12 month period is not that much. 2.) The 12 session will help to insure better results and therefor less "buyers remorse" at day 30-60 while they are waiting to see the results set in. -Tom

Rep Power: 24 | Re: Lumiere (Anyone making money?) Well, after one of the most hit threads I've seen on here for a while, what have I accomplished? Have we gained some knowledge on how to make this divice work and make money for us or are we all still in the same situation we were in before? Are there still a few locations doing ok with it and a bunch of us still doing nothing? I sure would like to hear from some owners who are now making a go of it and are happy about having lumiere in their salon. I haven't made a sale all month. |

Rep Power: 24 | Re: Lumiere (Anyone making money?) I have several employees working my main salon which is a day spa. I open at 7 am and run the desk until 10 am alone and then I do deposit and all the office work that needs to be done and then I take care of all of the maintenance that needs to taken care in all three salons. Finding time to promote lumiere is just too much for me. With the industry being as slow as it has been for the past couple of years, I can't afford to hire help for office work and maintenance like I was able to do three or four years ago. I just want to sell the lumiere and try to concentrate on keeping my salons open. I sometimes feel like that may be a losing battle if we don't have a huge change in what's going on in the industry. I've talked to a lot of salon owners this season who say it's no better than it was last year. I'm sure there are exceptions, as always or at least that's what they say. |

Rep Power: 68 | Re: Lumiere (Anyone making money?) TJ - do you have any employees, or are you on your own in the store? I suggest getting a "specialist" to do presentations to groups or individuals by appointment and working the sales and closing at that time. Have a good EFT program set up in advance because it does help people spend their money. If you're interested in talking about Lumierre with me over the phone, send me a PM. I'll try to help you and me at the same time. -Belvy
