I think it is all about whether YOU the salesperson believe in your equipment. You can't sell something you are not sold on yourself.

Re: Lumiere (Anyone making money?)

Wow, I have been sitting here for over an hour reading all 135 posts concerning Lumiere and feel for you all !!!

We were screwed by RAI, Tony, and Ray also !

"Premiere Salon Partner", Promises of National Advertising, Our Sales Rep. L-O-V-I-N-G Us, until..........we started asking questions too........then we were dropped like a hot potato !!!

I have been cussed out by Tony Case more times than I would like to remember. and on speaker phone with a business partner standing by.

My sales rep. (who shall remain nameless, because that's exactly how I feel about her) was such a "friend" until she was called on the carpet concerning the sales pitch she had given us........We had a 100% money back garauntee.......HA ! Right ! and YES ours was in writing........

My prayer......literally......is that NO ONE ELSE FALL PREY TO R A I !!!!!

We were one of the top sales salons for Tanology and (especially) serum 21. We were visited 'personally' by Ray Mead and compliments poured out profusely about the clientele we had, and then when we got wise to the BULLS*** they had sold us........my calls were no longer accepted, and I was threatened that if I did not stop posting on industry sites, thier Attorney would be contacting me.......i asked for that attorney's number directly, so that I could call him first, and guess what ? ? a year later, still don't have that "big dog's" phone number.

if you are new to this industry OR are JUST hearing of Lumiere......ask yourself 2 (sets of) questions.........

1. Why are there multiple industry vets on this forum who made such a costly mistake ?
Could it be that they were fed a fantastic tasting plate of B.S. ?
Because if you've been in this industry for a while and are still doing well, You're blessed, because the industry IS changing, and the 'fly by night' 'hole in the wall dumpy salons' are dying. (some not quickly enough! ha)
So how can this many good business owners have made the 'same mistake' around the country ? could it have been RAI's sales pitch and promises ??

2. Why HAVEN'T you heard of Lumiere before now ?
It's been in "Premiere Salons" since late 2004 ! !
That's TWO YEARS..........and people STILL haven't heard of it, outside of industry magazines ! ! ! Who reads those except Salon owners ?? That's not reaching the public, they are still trying to hook new victims ! ! DON"T DO IT ! !

I promised myself I would not open this very painful wound again, but I could not read all of this and not say something..........
I spent sooo many sleepless nights trying to figure out how to pay those payments, gained weight, lost weight, and still get sick to my stomach when I think of all the hurt I felt with that whole situation.

I do not wish that on any small business owner.....no matter what profession !

Re: Lumiere (Anyone making money?)

P.S.
Have any of the above disgruntled RAI clients EVER received a positive or acceptable response from RAI ?
Specifically from "Raymond" Mead or "Anthony" Case, International ?

Has anyone defended RAI ? (besides House of Tan)

No offense, House of Tan, but it seems to me that RAI would have defended THEMSELVES by now.
and not let YOU keep taking the questions, complaints, and letting YOU be the one to offer help, suggestions, and training. I thought that was thier responsibility.

(Hope you at least got a "thanks for taking our bullets" from 'em!)

Re: Lumiere (Anyone making money?)

RAI will not address any of this in any kind of forum, let alone directly to any of their customers. With any luck, the Planet Beach deal they put together will hold their feet to the fire to get the system into the eyes, ears, and minds of the consuming public. I've also noticed another similar product coming to the market (Medilight - or something like that) to be selling in the same price range that Lumeiere was prior to this upcoming convention in Nashville. I have to agree with everyone, these guys are scheisters that probably never intended to do any of the things they said straight to peoples' faces at the Orlando show a couple of years ago. Guess the ITA doesn't "research" the vendors that buy space at their shows? But I digress. This can still be a good thing for salons, but until "the herd", that is the consuming public, hears about photo-light therapy for facial rejuvenation, the machines will continue to gather dust in the corners. And RAI will continue to ignore us.

Re: Lumiere (Anyone making money?)

Wow....I never expected to get so many rosponses to my question of "Anybody making money?" I was just looking for responses from succesful lumier owners with input on how to sell packages and eliminate the slow season in the tanning industry. After all, That's what Ray and Tony were singing about at the Nashville Show in 2004. I took pictures or Ray playing the guitar and Tony playing the harmonica. I have them as my screen saver on my computers at my salon to motivate me everyday when I go to work and remind me that this machine is my savior to the hard times in the tanning business. Thank God for Raymond Anthony, International.

Does anyone else have stories to share with us????????????
