Hair Extensions
I am just looking for some advise. This is more a hair care question than skin care. I recently had hair extensions braided in (weave) from a very reputable salon. They gave me some advise on care and products to use. My question--for those of you that have extensions, mine seem to "mat up" quite easily. I am only washing my hair 2-3X per week, use professional products etc. I have only used my chi straightening iron. Some people say to treat them as if it was your own hair. I have used hot rollers a couple to times for something different but they really tangle up and mat. Is this the norm? Or am I doing something totally wrong? I guess I just used to my own hair. I should have never cut it off! Thanks

Re: Hair Extensions
I realize that but it seems from reading through the forums, many of you combine tanning with hair salons. Also, I thought perhaps since many of you are women, you may have or had extensions in the past and that may perhaps lead to some talking. Anyways, sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Hair Extensions
I have extentions and mine NEVER get matted. My salon cut a peice of my hair sent it and the company found hair that matched my hairs texture and color exactly. It is real human hair and it is attached using a regular straiting iron on low heat. My hair is weaved through this little plastic rubber thing and heat is applied and it shrinks down around my hair. The only issue I have is I ahave occcasionally hit it with my straiting iron causing the cassing to expand and I loose my extention. but never are they matted. In fact hardly any of my clients noticed

Re: Hair Extensions
I have great lengths & have not had this problem except when i forget to brush my hair or put it into a low pony or braid . . . .
sounds like you r salon uses lower quality hair - i have used evrything & think Great Lengths are worth the $$ if you are taking care of them, putting them up before sleeping, brushing gently & using proper shampoo/conditioner (no silicones!) you shouldnt have any problems with matting unless it is synthetic or cheap hair www.greatlengths.net will show you the difference between extensions types of hair |
