Hey everyone
I love this site.. tons of info!! Anyway, I tan about 1-2 times a week. Everyone says to do it in moderation.. is this moderation? I use australian gold Idol lotion.. any thoughts on this lotion? Can someone give me some benefits to tanning, besides the obvious, or some really good websites with information. Last question, I came across a list of FDA approved eyewear, but have lost it.. are the ultra sunglobes approved? Any other great advice? |

Not one response. Pity. AG is a bargain basement line, IMHO. 1-2 sessions per week is extremely moderate and probably ineffective depending on the type of equipment you're using. I honestly can't think of any other benefits to tanning besides the obvious, check out smarttan.com for that one, and I hope the ultra sunglobes are approved. ~attoning for my earlier lack of restraint~ Good luck.

I agree in regards to AG products. I tan 1-2 times per-week to keep a base tan. When I am planning to go on vacation or if I want a little more color, I might tan 2-3 X per week.
Tanning every day is not recommended. Look on the equipment label and it will tell you the recommended exposure for your skin type. Talk to the salon staff, ask question about the equipment. Ask question about the lamps.. are they high or low pressure and what’s the differents, Know your skin type. If you don’t know ask a salon staff member to do a skin typing. Educate yourself.. do a little research. The more you know the more you benefit. |

Tigerlilly,
I am glad you found the site! I have used AG Idol and it is a great lotion and has fine line and wrinkle reducing agents in the lotion! I loved the way it made my skin feel after I used it! It is hard for me to answer if you are tanning in moderation. What type of skin do you have, has anyone ever completed a Skin Type ananlysis at your local tanning salon? Have you heard that you are a 1,2,3? What type of beds do you tan in? What do the call your bed at your salon? Regular? Mega? How is your skin after you tan? Do you get dark? Do you burn? Benefits to tanning...I can say I look thinner when I tan! It is hard for us to make any "claim" about the benefits of tanning without getting our hands smacked...but if it makes you feel better , look better and makes you happy....go for it...but you might want to check out www.smarttan.com Eyewear is so important and I am glad you are using it and your own! You can find eyewear usually for sale at your local tanning salon... Since you seem to have a passion for tanning check out Iamtan.com it is a site for tanners and they come together to discuss their favorite beds, lotions and other advice to get the most out of your session! |
