I'm not a usual tanner, I usually just do it for special events. I use the UltraBronze at a local tanning salon and I've used it two days in a row now, and my tan is developing normally. However, I woke up this morning, its about 4 AM now, and I am SO itchy i could rip my skin off. I ran to the shower and that didn't help, and I put on massive ammounts of lotions, and THAT didn't help. I'm at a loss. Is this from tanning? How can I make it stop? I use the same lotion I've always used, CaliforniaTan X, the same bed, the same body wash, everything. BUt this is so bad i cant stand it.

It sounds like tanner’s itch caused by overexposure. (However, I am not a doctor.) If I had that, I would take an oatmeal or a herbal milk bath. (Warm not hot) After taking a bath, I would use a moistener without any form of mineral oils in it. I would no tan until the itching stops. If the itching didn’t stop with in 3 days I would call my doctor.

You burnt the SH*T out of yourself. Your problem is you are letting yourself go back to pale instead of keeping up a base. Keep a year round base (once/twice a week) then start to power it up some when an event comes around.

OK, for everyone who says I burnt myself....
In the UltraBronzer thing that I use, its IMPOSSIBLE to burn yourself. Theres no rays that can burn you. It costs a ton, but I do it because I'm so pale usually. Must be something else.

I would say that you have been over-exposed, but not in the sense that you have burned. Your skin is not used to the UV exposure and you have been getting too much too fast even though you may not have shown any signs of "burning". Take some time off, and start again, slowly, maybe forget about the so-called "no burn" beds and use something more simple.

LMAO. Ultra Bronz has discovered radiation that doesn't burn? When will they be on the stage in Stockholm? Seriously though, if you didn't burn, you caught something off of their matress. Good luck.

the problem is you started out in an ultrabronze, those beds are the ones that you lay 15 min on each side and dont have to tan for like a week or two. to me that is overexposure that its worst. you should at least had started out in a low level bed and worked you way up. here you are not allowed to tan in the ultrabronze unless you have a base tan to start with. anyway damage is done, try benadryl creme it will help the itch. also soak in some oatmeal bath. good luck

We have to dispel this "You can't burn in HP beds." myth. It hurts everybody's business. Good luck.

Over exposure!! That bed should only be used once a week at most and you should establish a nice base tan to prepare your skin for it.
