Kay...Thanks you have put that well.... The molicules (spell) in mineral oil are too large for the skin to absorb and should never be used while tanning.

Re: >>>>>>>>Moisturizer for body HELP!!!

FYI on Ingredient information. There are lots of FYI sites on ingredients. ONe for example I found which is guest friendly and simple is WWW.fitsugar.com

Petroleum and Mineral Oil: Bad News for your skin
We all know crude oil, sometimes called petroleum, is a fossil fuel that was produced deep in the earth through a process that took millions of years to complete. Today almost all of us come into contact with a derivative of a petroleum everyday. The world is full of products that come from petroleum: gasoline, styrofoam, lubricating oils, cosmetics

Mineral Oil and petroleum are the basic ingredients in many beauty products: both from fossils fuels (gross!)

By locking "Moisture" against the skin, petroleum and mineral oil sit on the skin's surface and can potentially block the pores. This may cause the appearance of pimples because the skin cannot properly breathe.

The use of chemicals such as petroleum can also increase your risk for developing skin cancer.

Petroleum base oil aremanufactured from crude oils by a vacuum distillation to produce serveral distillates and a residual oil that are then futher refined.

There are some derivaties like petrolatum, glyceryl stearate and cetyl alcohol. Although the later two can be also found in natural form. Make sure you know first before you buy.

Parabens : Petroleum product! Triggers skin irritations and may be an xerestrogen (Fairley,2001) May play a role in falling sperm count and rising breast cancer rates (Fairley, 2001) Used in 99% of all cosmetics and many in so called "Natual" products

Parraffin: derived from petroleum. In forms of wax, mineral oil or petrolatum. Comedogenic: blocks pores

Proplylene glycol: when derived from petroleum. Increases the amount of acid in the body, resulting in metabolic problems. Large amounts are needed to produce this effect. (Agency for Toxic Substance and Disease Registry or ATSDR, 2003)

This is just part of info on mineral oil/petroleum derived ingredients...

Need I say more...

Your skin is a major role in good health...If you can't eat the product then definitely don't put it on YOUR SKIN!!

SORRY SO LONG>>>>>>>.. BUT WORTH READING EVERY WORD IF YOU ARE USING MINERAL OIL OR PETROLEUM DERIVED PRODUCTS..
