Hello all. I am a newbie when it comes to tanning (today was my 8th. time). Anyway, after about my 3rd time I started getting a rash on my stomach area, on the back of my arms (near arm pit) and around my hips. The rash looks almost like a heat rash that you would get when sweating, however, I really don't sweat because it is in a stand up booth that has a fan.

I have not been using any lotions in the booth yet because I wanted to wait for the base tan. Before going to the tanning booths, I shower with St. Ives, "Whipped Silk" and then apply Olay Drench Moisterizer ~ I also apply this after the tanning booth. I have used these same products way before I started in the booths so I don't think it is that. My first day at the tanning booth, I started at 4 minutes and moved up to 8 minutes today. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am itching like crazy!!

most of the stand ups are very very hot, sounds like heat rash. did you lay in a regular base bed before using a stand up?? i would never let a new tanner just starting out use a stand up. these booths are for tanners who have an established tan. anyway damage is done, try some benadryl on the area and also take orally. use your moisturizer like crazy and take an oatmeal bath. it will ease the itch. good luck!!
