I am starting tanning tomorrow at the salon and i bought Pyro ultra hot maximizer cause i was tanning last year. It says it won't clog pores,irritancy tested and no mineral oils. So would it be ok to use on my skin? I break out once in awhile and i have some small red bumps on my skin just dont want to make it worse. While tanning should i not use my clean & clear products anymore and switch to something like Spectro jel? Thanks for the help guys and sorry so many questions.

Wow...if you haven't tanned since last year, you really should start off with an accelerator. Use an accelerator to build yourself back to base, and then start adding tingles (but start out with milder ones). I don't know how long it has been since you tanned, but if it was last year, you should start off slowly and build up to hotter lotions and longer session times.

Just to be blunt, if your skin as any feeling at all, you won't be able to start back with Pyro without torturing yourself. And it's an extremely drying lotion - just another reason not to use it every time you tan. Not to mention that even though it claims to be irritancy tested, it will irritate your skin. After all, that's basically what a tingle does (irritates the skin to increase oxygen flow). Please start out with an accelerator and put Pyro on hold for a while. After all, it's the only skin you're going to get - you shouldn't abuse it that way.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way...to answer your questions, I haven't had any problems using clean and clear and tanning. However, I would avoid using any leave-on creams before you tan since they may cause you to be more sensitive to UV. Tan first, then do the cream. Face washes should be fine. But pick up a good salon quality facial lotion for sensitive skin for tanning. Saving Face by Designer Skin is a good one.
