Okay I have type 1 skin. I have light blonde hair and blue eyes, no freckles. Here is a pic:

I've been thinking about getting a spray on tan done, but I've had some people say to me that it would be hard to make it look good on me because of my hair and current skin color. I've heard things about how it would be hard to get it to look natural around my hair, and there is a chance it would dye my hair a little.

I don't really think I could get tan the regular way. *sigh* Lets go back to the day where having pale skin was seen as a sign on beauty. I hear lots of comments every day about how I should be tan or "you'd look hot if you were tan." You don't tell black people they'd look better if they were white. (sorry for the rant).

Any suggestions?

You can wear a cap for your hair. But even if you did not it never dies my hair. There is too much to explain. Just try it. If you don't like it don't do it again. But doing one spray tan is not going to turn you into MR.TAN. Yes you will get color. Another thing is if your going into a booth make sure you follow the directions. Exfoliate prior to your spary and use a maintainer after your first initial shower. JUST TRY IT

I think it depends on what tan means to you. I am a very pale type II and with one spray, I get very good color. Now it's not a deep dark bronze that is found on the beaches of Brazil. But for me. It's definitly tan.

Personally, I would recommend starting with the lightest solution they have available. I get pretty dark with an 8%. I also recommend researching on where you are going to do it and if the person running the show is informed. If you go for the airbrushing, make sure that they are experienced. Going to an unexperienced will turn you off most likely for good. But an experienced tech will give you tons of information on how to maintain your tan, how to prepare, and what solutions will work for you..

Good exfoliation before your spray, like Genius said, is very important. Don't go in with any moisturizers on your body, as it may create a barrier between the solution and skin. There's plenty more that your tech should inform you about. Moisturizing after your initial shower daily will help to maintain it longer--twice if you remember.

If you have any more questions or if you don't find more answers to your questions, feel free to PM me.

Spray tanning does NOT dye or Stain your hair or clothing. Second, I have many customers that are skin type 1-2 and they LOVE the Sprays. Anyone who is telling you that they stain there hair was probably a bottled blonde(nothing wrong with that) that had been over processed and DRIED out and probably sucked in the color... Just like it does in a chlorine pool when it turns GREEN. Thats the only thing I could think of... and its pretty FAR FETCHED. Dont stress. The sprays are GREAT!
