Rep Power: 0 | Hey I'm new! I'm totally miserable though! I have olive skin, and I've started going to the tanning bed recently. I've been probably 10 times. The place I go to has brand new bulbs, so I'm only at 10 minutes. I was using something called Worship, but after about 6 visits I started getting really itchy all over. I'm not burned, but it's just feels like needles are going into my skin! I've changed my body wash, tanning lotion, detergent. Everything! Am I just allergic to the tanning bed? Is there a such thing? What do I do? I'm getting darker, but I can't deal with the itching! Please Help! |

Rep Power: 21 | Not sure if your a female, but I get that way when I start tanning. I have read that birth control and other prescriptions can cause sensitivity to sunlight. Make sure you keep your skin moisturized. Also ask what kind of bed cleaner they use. Some people have that reaction to Lucosol. Try asking for another towel and whiping your bed off before you tan it might help take some residue off. |

Rep Power: 107 | Too much tanning, take some time off to let your skin adjust. Use a good salon bought moisturizer a few times daily. Drink lots of water to replenish your body. |

Rep Power: 0 | Heat Rash. Been there done that. Already posted on it previously, but might I add that if it is the Cleaning solution , I dont think your chest or arms would be itching. Unless you are rolling around in the bed. I agree with Neon, just take some time off, and dont go as often. if you are going 3 in a row, cut it down to two or every other. I actually go 1 and skip 2 sometimes, just to ensure that my skin is getting the proper down time. When you work at a salon you have all the tanning time you need, dont hurt your skin by being in a hurry. If its ESSENTIAL That you get a tan QUICK, do a Spray Tan ! They dont protect from the sun, but they look GREAT! |
