I thought there was professionals on this skin care chat room.A skin care professional in the field for 15 years facials etc. that I sprayed told me that his tan lasted 10 days. I read that baking soda is used for removing makeup, hair spray, gels. I know baking soda lowers PH in swimming pools.I also know that the people I have sprayed that did use baking soda in their prewash did love their color. Super dark. Still trying to see if it works better than renew etc..

I have since talked to a chemist who said that baking soda can increase your PH level. It may exfoliate makeup, hair products, etc well. But too much PH turns DHA orange. Still know nothing. For the guy who lasted 10 days I still haven,t heard from him from the last spray 2 weeks ago, Fusion.I probably should have sprayed renew on him, i guess he is an expriment, one of many......

The guy probably had an excellant base tan. Baking soda will act as an exfioliate. If he was sprayed or was in a booth (doesn't matter), he will still get about 7-10 days. Again, this is because he probably has an excellant base tan. If he has anything less, the max he will get is 5-7 days.

Changing the PH of the skin will change the action of the DHA and bronzer in the solution . Too high a PH and you will turn orange. Baking soda does NOT make the DHA last longer.

Another fact is that you lose some skin every day. Since DHA only tans the dead tissues, the tan can only last as long as the skin has not been lost. Various factors effect this too. However, since DHA does not tan the lower levels of the dermis, a tan cannot be extended by changing the PH only.
