I started tanning about 2 weeks ago. 5 minutes the first time..10 minutes the next..and stayed at about 10 minutes. I tan easily. So that equals about, 4 times I suppose. I had used a Hot Chocolate lotion packet during that time except for the 2nd time I believe.

So then I go this one evening, come home and I am ITCHING. No rash, nothing unusual at all. It's like itching mosquito bites that aren't even there. I wait a couple days as I want to give myself a break and use a booth this time to see if it was the bed that caused itching. Well after a couple minutes I start itching. Come home, take a shower, take a bath..nothing worked! It was so bad I just layed in my bed squirming and itching. It lasted the rest of the night, which obviously was hours! I'm wondering what this sounds like it could be? I didn't itch the first handful of times I went. That is why I'm unsure. Not sure if this is a lack of moisture or what. I use LoEstrin birth control. I don't think that could be it, as there were no effects in the beginning. Also, this is baffling to me as I have no reactions to this when tanning outdoors, nor did I have this reaction when I used to tan INdoors 3 years ago.

Could be many things. The lotion, the meds, allergic reaction to any sanitizer residue, maybe something in your diet has made you photosensitive.

your body changes every 7yrs.. benydryl will help the itching...like neon said..could be soooo many things..

Is Hot Chocolate a tingle lotion?

COCONUT 12-05-2004 09:36 AM

no i think its a level 1... CT makes it.then their level 2 is pure chocolate._________________

Sounds like you are getting too much UV exposure too fast, even if you aren\'t burning. Slow down and go ever 2nd or 3rd day instead. Perhaps for shorter session times. And check your meds to see if they are photosensitizers.

Re: Itching..oy vey!

A long long time ago there was a thread here regarding "Tanner\'s Itch". I believe it is something that will happed sometime between the 2nd to the 5th time you tan. Can\'t remember the details, but I had a solution I purchased from a disty called Tanner\'s Relief. And it worked.

I believe your skin is trying to getting adjusted to the uv light.

Re: Itching..oy vey!

ps. I found the old thread that explains it better. Also, I have had many clients complain of having allergic reactions to CalTan products. Not sure why, but every time they would use a CT product they would break out in a rash and itch. ~shrug~
