Re: Itching..oy vey!

I went to the Dr. My rash was from a penicillin reaction. The dr said the tanning bed may have brought it on or made it worse. Make sure the medications you are taking are ok with being in the sun.

Re: Itching..oy vey!

I'm having the same problem, I used to be an extremely frequent tanner (every other day for months) and NEVER noticed a problem. I started going last week and have done two 12 minute sessions. (I never burn only tan, the luck of being middle eastern)

Now I have itchy red raised rashes on my chest, bum back and on one of my legs. I'm not taking medication, benadryl hasn't helped, nor have any anti itch creams.

HELP! Tanning used to be my friend, now it is the enemy.

Re: Itching..oy vey!

i can't help but wonder if oksmedia had hives from being nervous tanning.....notice he kept saying he jumped out because he was paranoid. benedryl would have helped it to.

Re: Itching..oy vey!

If you are concerned about the lotions you might want to try Pure by Darkside.

Re: Itching..oy vey!

A lot of people do that. I itch in the first couple of weeks I start to tan and I know a lot of people who do. Sarna lotion from the pharmacy dept. helps. Just go slower. I did 5 minutes the first 2 times, and I would increase 2-3 minutes and stay at that time for a couple of days. I am up to 18 minutes now, with no itching. Also, a lot of people itch on boney parts that touch the acrylic. If that happens, you can put baby powder on those spots before you tan. Hope this helps.:)

Re: Itching..oy vey!

dont let a stupid employee at a bad salon stop you from laying in the tanning bed. you should never jump from from 5 to 6 to 10 in a high pressure bed if you are fair complected. find you a new salon and take it easy. moisture is the key to a healthy golden tan. so get you a good moistureizer like angel by designer skin or gitter done by fiesta sun. dont be afraid of the tanning bed. so go ahead and get back in there!!!

Re: Itching..oy vey!

you have got to use some type of lotion in the bed, and then a moisturizer when you get out, or else you're just asking to be itchy.
