My boyfriend has recently started tanning (in a tanning bed) for his trip this comming February. he has gone about 7 times now and he developed a red spot with bumps that looks almost like a rash just above his hinnie. Im not 100 % sure if it's itchy for him, but I haven't seen him itching it at all. Is there some sort of cream that he can use to make it go away or should he see a doctor? and should he stop tanning or can he just cover it up so its not in direct contact with the rays? (also he has tanned many times in the past for past trips and never experienced something like this)

It's most likely a preasure point where he lays in the bed. When you press all the blood out of an area it can't tan. Bet he has 2 other spots on his sholder blades.

Tell him to flip over or use the vertical booth next time.

nope....no other spots. its not that it cant tan....its that there was some sort of skin irritation which caused a rash like spot with bumps. I need some expert advise here. (not to be offensive engfant) i dont think the place where he goes has a verticle booth. has anyone else gotten this? or know what he can do to get rid of or prevent this?

No offense, I'm correct. It CAN tan BUT he is PUSHING AGAINST IT WHEN HE LAYS IN THE BED causing the BLOOD TO BE PUSHED OUT resulting in an IRRITATION instead of a tan.

Why does everyone want to have some SPECIAL NEVER BEFORE SEEN ailment when it's really something simple.

Alot of women get this too, right above the fanny, there is no or little blood circulating there hence "pressure point" have him move around in the tanning unit or use a stand-up like Engfant said...this is NOT uncommon at all!!!!

Does he sweet heavely in that area???
