I have white freckles on my arms and thighs. They aren't VERY noticeable and I even think they're cute, 'cause they are very small, but I never saw anyone else with this. It's not tinnea versicolor or anything like that; it's really just white freckles.

I was just wondering if I'm the only one with this? I really don't mind; I'm just curious

Have a nice day!

Sorry, there is no "JUST white freckles". You better HOPE it's tinea cause if not it may be this:

Everyone thinks they are DIRTY if they find out they have a FUNGUS. You don't want white freckles.

I agree........

I had them forever, I don't know what could be the cause.
I'll check the link you posted. but I talked to doctors about it and they didn't say anything special about it.
Maybe some people really have white freckles? hah, I don't know.
But I'll go check the link you sent in a minute.

Just checked the site.
It KIND OF looks like this, except it's smaller. And I don't have that much, only a few.
And even if that was it... It doesn't sound too dangerous right?
"In most cases, treatment is not required as the marks are completely harmless. Attempts to destroy the lesions may leave brown marks or larger white marks, which may look worse than the original condition. Sun protection is very important."
Mortality/Morbidity: This condition is cosmetic alone, albeit, it is indicative of cumulative sun exposure.

I also have very sensitive skin, maybe it's the reason why?

Ah well, either way, I just have to deal with it.
I only tan about 12 minutes a week anyways.

EDIT: I found an answer on some Medline website:
In light pigmented individuals this eruption tends to appear in sun exposed areas. In dark pigmented individuals macules may be prominent in sun exposed as well as clothing covered areas.

I'm naturally very very pale. I guess that's why ;/[ This Message was edited by: Ava on 2004-09-21 16:53 ]

I'm a skin type 2, age 47, and I've noticed some develop on my shins over the last few years. Spray tan doesn't help, either.

I've had those white freckles since I was a child, so I don't think they are age related. I really only see them when I get tan. Normally I am very pale and cannot see them. Mine are not "scaly" as in the post, and are not limited to a specific body part. When I am tan you can see that I am covered in them. I always wondered what they were, and just assumed they were white freckles. It makes sense that the article says they are absent of pigment. They don't itch or burn or anything, so I think they are just a part of who we are.

i have that too, and in winter, i cant see them at all, but around summer, they become visible. from what i hear its a lack of melanin in skin, everyone in my family has it, and they get brighter and whiter when you age, but its a completely natural occurance, nothing to worry about

Chicken Pox scars? I have a few white dots here and there.
