What have you found to be the advantages for you?

That would be the coolest if some black chicks came in to go tanning. Talk about good publicity

I have a few african americans who tan .I have even airbrushed one!!

I've had some African Canadian dancers tan with me, well, not with me, but at my salon, they actaully have a thong tanline to maintain....... go figure!

People of color.. African Americans, Oriental and the like all need Vit. D.... and will burn, so yes they should build up their tolerance to UV light before vacations and keep their Vit. D prodution up.

Also, we have had some come in for psorias (sp)

Most who have come in here to tan lately cite they want to replace the warm tones in their skin color.

We have a few African American tanners that do body building and they will come in right before their competitions to get the more tone/defined look to their bodies.

African Americans CAN Tan. I will not go on to repeat everything that Sherin previosuly posted, but I too had some African American clients at a previous salon. She tanned for other reasons. She was a very light skinned black lady with freckles on her face and she told me once that "She was proud of where she is from, her whole family was very dark skinned and this makes her feel better" Good for her. Everyone has there reasons for tanning, and I think hers was the best, IT MADE HER FEEL GOOD ABOUT HERSELF... isnt that what its all about? Besides I never heard of someone tanning because "it makes them feel like poo". *wink*
