Avid Tanner going to Cancun....how much SPF?

I'm an avid and easy tanner and I'm going to Cancun next week. I have never been before and need some advice on what kind of lotion to use. I of course want to get the most out of my "sun" in Cancun, however I don't want to burn and be miserable the rest of the time. Someone suggested I need at least 30spf on my first day...that sounds like a lot though. Any advice??

Do you have a tan now? You should only take SPF and apply it often.

I would say even higher then that. The sun in Mexico is very strong because its clsoe to the quator. I would honestly go with 50, but then I am very avid in skin cancer awreness. Tanning is not worlds greatest thing. Why don't you wear really high spf and then go to a mystic tanning salon so everyone thinks you tanend but you didn't?

spf 15..for the entire vacation..you will still get tan.

use a high spf and use it often even if you have a tan why get burnt.
Apply hourly and you'll still get tanner.
