I need some tanning help.

For starters I am pale 17 years old.

It's spring and I have been wearing pants for forever it seems like. My job is outside sometimes and I would like to wear shorts or pants, but my legs are just SO DARN WHITE. I also have a farmer's tan on my arms because at my job I wear a tee shirt, and we aren't supposed to roll the sleeves.

I know, "just go to a tanning bed!" you say. But that's where the problem arises. I went to a tanning bed about 2 years ago. The first time I went I laid for 3 minutes, because I had never been and because I was pale. I got kind of burnt, but nothing awful. Then I started breaking out in a rash. So I thought it was the lotion, so I changed and tried again a few days later. Still a rash after I was done. Finally I tried with no lotion and still got a rash and it was determined I was getting a form of sun poison and have never been back.

I can't tan outside, because by the time I get done with school/work the sun is down.

Any suggestions?
I'd love to go to the tanning bed, at least to work on my legs, but the rash was very unsightly and itched something awful.

cut down your exposure time, it doesnt sound like much but if you have a sun allergy , 3 minutes could be too much for you. try going everyday for 1 minute, then go every day for 2 minutes, has worked for my clients in the past...they gradually built up. good news is the next year they were able to move up very quickly.
