I am doing some research. This isn't exactly a skin care issue but I didn't know where else to put it. Has anyone done any kind of facial enhancements such as botox, collagen injections, plastic surgery, etc? If so, what is your experience?

My mother recently started doing botox. At first she just tried it around her frown lines on her mouth...now she does her whole face. She loves it. I think it takes a day or so to see the results, but she is very happy with it.

My experience with botox is that it took about 2 weeks to be completely effective. It has been 3 months and a couple of areas could use a little touch up. My doc won't do it around the mouth..only forehead, nose, crow's feet. I have a friend who also gets it done around the mouth. Wonder why different docs do different things?

Have you been pleased with the results? I lost lots of weight(200#) many years ago and have had several cosmetic procedures to put things back in their proper places and remove excess skin. I am right now recovering from a lip lift and augmentation--still pretty swollen and sore. I would guess I am older than most of you and, believe me, gravity takes its toll especially with excess skin that has no where to go but down!! My kids think I am crazy....my son especially hates my lip lift...right now I look like Goldie Hawn in First Wives Club.

I believe it was Michaelangelo who said, "The beauty remains long after the pain goes away"

Didn't see 'My wife & kids' but Botox is quick and easy!

I knew a woman who had Botox quite a few times over an extended period and it caused the right side of her face to become paralyzed. I'm sure it was misadministered though...maybe too much, too deep or not in the right area. I've heard good things about Stryvectin and Hydroderm as well.

Botox can cause a temporary paralysis of certain muscles. Did this woman's face get better? I haven't heard of the other products. What are they for? I will have to do a search.
