whenever i go tanning, although i don't use accelerator with tingle in it, i end up with red bumps and extremely itchy palms and bottoms of my feet. occasionally, the bumps and itchiness occur on my legs and arms as well. i can't figure out what this could be. i guess its a rash? i don't even know. well this "rash" lasts up to a week. once the itching stops my skin is VERY dry and whenever i shower it peels off my palms. i love being tan and i'm desperate to find out what it is and what i'm doing wrong. any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

also, the first time i went tanning i used a tingle, and the same thing happened but much worse...my entire body itched for a week and all my skin just flaked off. it was gross. is that normal? could i be allergic?

Since there is no melanin in the palms of your hands or the bottom of your feet, I would think that you have suffered from a sunburn on those areas. The itching is probably due to the sunburn.

To be on the smart side, I would recommend that you visit a dermatologist. I am sure that you can find one that is "tanning salon friendly". BTW: What is your skin type?

You are burning up your skin. Stop tanning so hard.

Sounds to me that your skin is extremely dry, use a good moisturizer and use it often. This may help and like an earlier post stated, if that does not help, see a dermatologist.

Your salon should have a good moisturizer for you to use. We use a private label moisturizer that we get from Dayton, Ohio. It is a really good moisturizer and is also relatively cheap. If you are interested, pm me and I will get you info on how to get it.

This is a classic example of WHY this site should be shut down.

Please disregard any comments made by Jersey or the Brat.....

You need to be evaluated by a physican - period.

You should NEVER have used a stimulant unless you were an ADVANCED tanner....unless you are STANDING on the glass of the bed - you are not bloody likely to 'burn the soles of your feet like the diagnosis given here....

Your description (without giving us the exposure time) sounds like a severe sun rash....

Please do not mess around with the marooooons here and learn how to access a professional salon that CAN advise you both on skin care, tan times and appropriate products.

Shelia babe.. the quesion is what moisturizer do you recomend... ok on to the sun rash.. if in fact this person had a sun rash it would be highly unlikelly to come on the palms of you hands and feet and no were else. Ok so miss Professional.. I agree a stimulant should not have beed used.. but what would mosturizer do if he had a sun rash? I certanly would not worsen the situation..
