I know that tyrozine is believed to enhance the tanning process by suppling this esential amino acid to the melanin producing cells for a darker tan. I also know that most lotions are moisturizers.

But I am wondering if there is a basic moisturizer, like one would use afer a shower, that contains tyrosine. I use a lot of moistuizer so I would use up the avarage 8.5 oz bottle lotion fast. Not to mention that a lot of lotions have bronzers, tingle, scents and a lot of other stuff I would not care to have in a moisturizer. I would still use tanning lotion for when I tan. I am just looking to get some extra color.

Any ideas on what I could use? Or do I have to make my own product.

Thanks.

Any of your salon sold mositurizer can be used after a shower. That is all I use, I only use the ones we sell in the salon. Hempz, Swanky Girl, DS Angels, AG Tan Extender, we sell a wide variety due to the scents, we keep mositurizer in stock at all times.

Well, I can't believe that I am going to say this, but the best thing that I have found with tyrosine in it and moisturizes well is AG Accelerator. I do know that they have changed some of their products, and it may not contain tyrosine anymore, but when it did, it was good for applying daily.

As far as using a moisturizer daily, I wouldn't necessarily say that it has to have tyrosine in it to be good for getting extra color. That used to be the theory behind products with tyrosine in them, but that has changed.

The most important thing is moisturize your skin as often as possible.

Raymond Anthony's Tanologys moisturizer "serum 21" has tyrosine, Vanillin, arginine, oleayl tyrosine, acytyl tyrosine and copper ferment in it. these are all forms of tanning accelerators. This lotion is the greatest at extending your tan.

Yeah, I know...I should probably edit that out!!!!

Oh yeah. Walk around with AG accelerator stank on you all day. You'll be real popular.

Well I am using AG Tan Extender now, recently switched from something else. I hate to admit it, but it does seem better than what I was using before - the scent is a little stronger than I like. Maybe I will give 'serum 21' a try next. Thanks for the info

Mouthybrat:

when you said this:

Did you mean that the current theory says that tyrosine isn't useful to apply topically to achieve darker colour? So really I could be using any moisturizer that won't hurt the acrylics instead of only tanning lotions (which are very expensive)?

I'd love to hear what ingredients to look for and what ingredients to avoid in a lotion both for during tanning and for moisture between tans.

Thanks for any help!
