Rep Power: 0 | I will add my two-cents on Serum 21 because we carry TANOLOGY and sell a lot of it in our salon. We have been trained by RAI and learned that the accelerators that are in MELAMAX6 in the Serum 21 (including Tyrosine) primarily serve to accelerate tanning specifically during the 24 hours after the session because the process of melanogenesis continues for that long. The belief is that most folks tan, do something for a couple of hours and then shower. Using the Serum 21 to moisturize after showering feeds your skin with the accelerator ingredients needed to continue tanning as well as rehydrates, nourishes and detoxifies your skin (check out the quality ingredients!). The other unique thing about Serum 21 is the PATHWAY PRIMER complex that helps the skin to create additional fuel (called Tyrosinase) for the tanning process. Using the product daily means that when you jump in the bed for your session, your skin is primed to maximize the accelerator ingredients in your lotion. This makes Serum 21 a great tanning prep as well as an aftercare product. It is unlike anything else that I have seen in the market. Smells great and makes your skin look and feel great. I have customers and staff that swear by it. BTW, Tyrosine or any other ingredient applied topically will only be effective if the product has a “targeted delivery system” which includes “carrier ingredients” that help the actives (like accelerators) absorb into the skin and reach their intended destinations. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise... |

Rep Power: 21 | What I meant was that you do not have to use a lotion with tyrosine in it daily. Yes, using it when you tan is a good idea, but any good moisturizer for in between sessions is good to use. The best moisturizers are the ones you can find at your tanning salon. But to use a tanning lotion on days when you are not tanning is going to make you spend a lot more money in the long run. On second thought, yeah, go ahead and use your tanning lotion everyday!!!! The more you use, the more we sell!!!! |

Rep Power: 0 | Why do you say "the best moisturizers are the ones you can find at your tanning salon?" Obviously salon owners like them best because they make money when they sell them. Personally, I don't think many of the salon moisturizers are any differerent from Wal-Mart brands if you read the ingredients. Although it sounds like lil_missfit and the hose doctor maybe onto something with the product they are selling. |

Rep Power: 21 | The lotions that salons sell are formulated to work best for tanners. They take into account the fact that the uv will dry out the skin and therefore has more of the active moisturizing ingredients than lotions bought elsewhere. |

Rep Power: 22 | The difference between the Walmart brands are as follows: A...mineral oil being the main ingredients which will ruin acrylic of the tanning bed and if a clients gets in the bed with it on you will be able to tell when they leave, the bed will be slick as a babies bottom. B...Hydrochloride...which is a bleaching agent ..it will fade your tan that you spend XX amount to get...so if you want to really spend the $$$ at the salon,...then use the cheap stuff. C...the Fact that most folks want to kee the tan they get, using a salon sold moisturizer will help your tan last longer. I only tan 3 to 4 times a month, my tan last a whole lot longer than it did when I was using my love spell by VS everyday...which I dont use anymore. D...education will help you get the tan you pay for and more. |
