I totally agree with FUN. She said it best, we must quiz our clients on skin care until they get it right. And make them understand that it's for their benefit to use the correct products to moisturize with, bathe with, etc. That's our job as the professional.

After all, we aren't selling "20 mins in a machine" or a "bottle of stuff" we are selling people the skin tone and the beneifits of it they desire. There are many more factors involved than just "how many minutes do you want to go for" if we are really going to give them what they spent their time coming in for.

Using lotion's from the durg store... well I would rather DIE!

I tell my customers that if they do use drugstore lotions then It's like blow-drying your hair every day and using Suave conditioners!!!!

I agree with the exfoliants only being used every five days or so. I used to use St. Ives Apricot stuff until it was scratching my skin all to ****...now I use Queen Helene's Oatmeal Honey scrub and it's awesome. It is very gentle and still gets the job done!

Another tip is to religiously ask your new clients about the medications they are taking! I'm sure most of you do this, but it is critical. As the wife of a physician, I'm extra cautious in educating people about photosensitivity and medications, whether over-the-counter or prescription. If you're interested in a list, please feel free to let me know!
