I realize this forum is for mostly "shop-owners"....but I thought maybe someone here could help?

I went to tan at a salon last Monday night. I haven't gone back because for the first 3 days I was still "pink" in my breast areas (in between them) and was afraid I would further burn. Now I have small bumps there which itch a lot.

The bed I used was a "starter bed" since the salon said I had sensitive skin based on the questionaire I filled out. I was only in the bed for 7 minutes.

I was wondering if anyone knows what this could be? Is it possible sun poisoning? Could it be that I'm allergic?

I've burned before...and a similar thing happened. For four months on my shoulders I had small similar bumps which itched.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!

I have had a couple of women in shop that have had this same problem,Chord. I just thought it was from the heat and sweat. Any thoughts from other salon would be helpful to me, also.

Are you on any type of medication.. Check the list to see if they are on there.... Possibly something is making you a bit more sensitive? Did you have any perfume on this area?

This happens a lot in the begining stages of tannin. That area is very sensitive and you should use caution. We tell our clients upfront to cover this area part of the time when they first begin tanning.

We had a client a couple of weeks ago that we started her on 5 mins. She did this. She thought it was the lotion and didn't tell us the first time. She just didn't use the lotion the second time and burn it even more. Finally she showed us the area. Wow! She was blistered. We wouldn't let her tan for a week and then when we did let her she still had to cover that area. She has finally built her time to about 9 mins but still has to cover the cleavage area.

I remember way back when I was a teen doing this out at the pool. I burn severly in that area.

Ive had customers that recently experienced this problem. Most were using lotions that they was sensitive to.(Perhaps it was the fragrance) Using hydrocortisone for a day or two, not tanning for a couple days & changing lotions seemed to work for them.
