Rep Power: 0 | Giacinta, where did you get that information? Walnut extract is taditionaly used topically for soothing and anti-itchng, as well as against sunburns. Please when making a "claim" on a property in a product, have your facts. Walnut extract can be used for other types of burns as well. Skin disorders as well as skin diseases. It is one of the BEST acne treatments on the market for professional use. DHA works at the surface level of the tissue and when oxygen hits it it begins the process of changing color. Walnut extract in the "air brush solution " helps us see where we spraying the actual DHA on the guest having the service. Very few people are allergic to Walnut extract or Walnuts in general that is why Chemists use it in their products they create. Julie |

Rep Power: 0 | walnut extract is known for its fungistatic and astringent properties njchica, extracts are obtained from the leaves (detergent properties),and its bark for(astringent). The "oil" is extracted from the ripe nut. Think of it this way, Tannin is a primary constituent of walnut so there may be a color depending on the amount being used. It is the DHA that is creating the color though, that is why everyone gets their own color unlike a bronzer or a bronzing agent that makes everyone look the same color. Julie |

Rep Power: 0 | tannin, tannic acid,or gallotannic acid, astringent vegetable product found in a wide variety of plants. Sources include the bark of oak, hemlock, chestnut, and mangrove; the leaves of certain sumacs; and plant galls. Tannin is also present in tea, coffee, and walnuts. A solution of tannic acid is obtained from one of these natural sources by extraction with hot water; in particular, gallotannic acid is obtained from plant gall. Tannin varies somewhat in composition, having the approximate empirical formula C76H52O46. Tannic acid is a colorless to pale yellow solid; it is believed to be a glucoside in which each of the five hydroxyl groups of the glucose molecule is esterified with a molecule of digallic acid. Tannin is used in tanning animal skins to make leather; it transforms certain proteins of animal tissue into compounds that resist decomposition( helps preserve tissues). It is also used in manufacturing inks, as a mordant in dyeing, and in medicine as an astringent and for treatment of burns. information from Cosmetic ingredients Dictionary 2nd edition. |

Rep Power: 0 | My daughter is allergic to walnuts and pecans but doesn't have a problem with the lotions containing these 'nutty' ingredients. Is that normal? She has a severe reaction if she eats them. Pam |
