Hey all,
My facial skin is dry and oily in different areas... Before I apply my powder foundation, i need to use a moisturizer to even out my skins texture (therefore the makeup looks even.... I am currently using Eucerin Renewal Alpha Hydroxy Lotion w/ an SPF of 15.... On the back it states "Gently Exfoliates to smooth and retexturize facial skin" ... For some reason I feel like this product is causing me to breakout w/ little whiteheads... Does n e one know a good facial moisturizer that will "smooth" and "evenout" facial skin and doesn't cause them to breakout??? Chris help! _________________ * Laura * * Year Round Tanner *[ This Message was edited by: Tropical Image on 2003-03-26 08:23 ] |

I've heard mixed opinions about products that contain Alpha-Hydroxy. Isn't it Beta-Hydroxy that's better for tan/dry skin?
I found this stuff made by L'Oreal - Age Perfect. It's in a small, blue jar. I like it so far |

An AHA is higher than a Beta-- Glycolic is Higher than the other two..
You could indeed have sensitivity to a product that is exfoliating your skin... Try to look for something that is not "sluffing"..... Combination skin is quite normal for most people.... if you are combo skin remember less is best on the face.......or the area you are conbo....chest...back......follow? You need your anti-oxidents but try to only "sluff" the facial tissue once or twice in a 10 day period...... The oil on the skin is produced to "protect" the skin so if your skin is over stimulated it will produce more oil....and same with the dryness..it becomes dry to "protect" the surface of the skin from harshness to the upper level of tissues. Be wise and don't over do it when it comes to combination skin... Less is best.. C |

Do you think we need to exfloiate every day? I don't. I use a product about twice a week. But I do think that applying a moisturizer at night is a good idea. I've started doing it - it's just a hard habit to get into!

Hey guys, thanks for all the wonderful suggestions
RedHot, i completely agree w/ u... there is no way exfoliating ur face could be good for u... it would aggrivate my skin way too much..[ This Message was edited by: Tropical Image on 2003-03-26 13:11 ] |

I use Saving Face or Carotene Creme as my moisturizer.... and I have combination oily/very dry skin. Chris also sent me an AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME facial moisturizer called Holistics Avocado Ginger Moisture Cream which was AMAZING on my face. the Holistics stuff was my favorite!!!
I use an exfoliating scrub once or twice per week... I also moisturizer religiously several times per day, including right before bed. I use Neutrogena's Visibly Firm before bed which I totally love. |
