leg ulcers? - tanTALK

I have a client who would like to try tanning, except she has leg ulcers from previous ciculatory problems. Any one had experience here? She is not taking anyn meds, apparently sometimes they are open, so she covers them with gauze.

You Must tell her she can not tan or expose the ulsers to UV any open wound should not be exposed... this will cause them to not heal properly.

Gauze may help them not to leak.but the UV can still penetrate the gauze.. just like using a towel over your face will not protect your eyes from the UV..

I say better safe than sorry......
No tanning while the ulser is active..

I discussed this with Corleen and Julie our other aestheticians here........and both agree NO exposure to UV while ulsers are active.

Thanks Chris! Apparently they are on her ankles only and flare ups are occassional. Perhaps I will get her to keep her feet out of the bed if she needs to.

Good idea.......
and remember as soon as the skin heals and is not leaking or inflamed she can resume her regular exposure schedule..

Let her try Plantolin Dry Skin Salve. It can't hurt.:)

She probably died of old age cause this thread is so old.
