Rep Power: 0 | Problems with Peeling Hello all, I have skin that tans easily, and I rarely get sunburned. But two weeks ago I decided to go tanning (in a tanning bed) for the first time in about 2 months, and I got badly burned. The burn healed in about a week, and when it was healed again, I went tanning again. Now, I didn't get burned again, but the skin around my hips/stomach has started to peel. It is of course peeling off my tan in places, the result being that my skin is different colors on my stomach. I have been moisturizing a lot, drinking lots of water, and taking a vitamin to help my skin heal. The peeling has gotten better, and I would think that it would be cleared up in a couple days. But my question is, in order to bring my skin back to an even color, what should I do? When my skin has healed and the peeling stops, should I tan lightly to even out my skin color? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Happy New Year! |

I had a girl, just yesterday, who came in after not tanning for two months who wanted a full fifteen minutes. When I told her she hadn't been in for quite some time, she said "but I have to be tan in eleven days for homecoming". I told her if she took the full time, she would possibly burn and then would have to stay out of the beds until the redness went away. I told her color usually doesn't appear until the third time in, so she reluctantly agreed with me and took less time. I hadn't been in since October, and I tan easily, but I only went in for six minutes yesterday.

If you ever burn again use California Tan Insurance, it will stop the burn, and the peeling, It's awesome stuff. Also make sure you use a lotion when you are tanning, you must keep your skin moist. Moisturize or use a body spray as soon as you get out of the bed. |
