Listen to Christine - when buying a sunscreen, make sure it is fragrance free, etc. All the additives can be harsh to your skin & be irritating. You do not want to irritate your skin and go back to square one.
I also have to use a non-fragranced laundry detergent and fabric softener. Dreft is actually a laundry detergent for babies. It is more expensive but it very gentle with no harsh ingredients. I use that and Arm & Hammer laundry detergent. When you clean your face at night, the wash cloth you use, if washed in a laundry detergent with added fragrances or other harsh ingredients, can also irritate your skin.

Oops-Sorry Shawn-Was not being too clear. I was referring to a personal experience of my own with Retin-A. Many topical ointments can make you more sensitive to the sun.

I'm 39 years old. Back when I was 15-16ish my mother took me to a derm for my acne. She was afraid it was going to turn in to the severe stuff her half brother has. Anyway, the derm did a treatment that I can best describe as "freezing my face". He used some sort of frozen Nitrogen?, Hydrogen? (been too long to remember exactly) that was sprayed on my face. It did work very well. I have no scars of any sort and few breakouts anymore. Is this something that was commonly done then but not now? or Was is something not widely done but still done some today? The reason I asked is it worked (for me and a friend) and the only side effect was some slight redness the day of the treatment. Anyone know anything about this acne treatment?

In case it helps here is a little more detail on how they did the procedure.

The tank looked like a propane tank and was very cold to the touch. There was a tube out of the top with a nozzle on the end. It came out like one of those attachments you add to your garden hose to make it spray a preasurized stream. I still remember the tank icing over while the procedure was going on. I wish I knew if there was a name to this but I always just said I was going to get my face frozen.
