So Accutane is used as a last resort? My teenage neighbor has been on it for about 5 months now, and I don't see much improvement. Can you suggest a cleanser and moisturizer he can use? He's using Noxema antibacterial foaming wash and a Jergen's lotion on his face. I know the Jergen's is probably making matters worse, but is the Noxema ok?

I would ask my doctor for a strong medicine cause I don't see any improvement.

Are you sure he's been on it for 5 months? I think you can only be on it for up to 6 months. He probably won't notice any improvement until he's almost done with it-and it stays in your system for a while too. Accutane pushes everything out of your pores so your face is going to break out really bad. Its almost impossible to keep your skin moisturized. I recommend he use basis lotion. I tried heavier lotions while I was on accutane, but they burned so badly. I don't think he should be using a facial soap-that is going to dry him out even more. I'm sure his face is red too?? You can almost see accutane working though-it starts under the eyes first and moves down. The redness will start going away. I had to use medication to bleach my face afterwards.

I asked his dad, and yes it's been about 5 months. He has extremely dry skin and lips. And his face is red. Nose bleeds at the drop of a hat. The past two weeks, he has had quite an attitude. Even towards me. He's a pitcher on the HS baseball team, and lately, he acts like he doesn't even want to play. He's even gone so far as to call me to come get him out of class so he wouldn't have to act like a judge. This is an honors student with a 4.0 gpa. He's even lost interest in his dog. He's 15. I don't see a major improvement at all. I'm becoming extremely worried about him. His dad is going to call his derm. I know he only washes his face once a day. Where can I get basis lotion?

I have started to tan lately in Michigan. The store, Tropi-Tan, is owned by Vince Lorriane. I used a facial tanning bed and I have seen my face is clearing up. Tanning works. I have tanned 3 times in 3 days and I have noticed a huge difference.
