Rep Power: 0 | I've had three facials in the past 6 months, each at a different place (one was closer to my home, but I was not really impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, another was on a cruise ship, and the other at a place near my office). Each time I've gotten a different analysis and "prescription" for how to care for my skin. The first place told me I have oily skin. I had a hard time believing this because I only get occassional blackheads on my chin and nose, and no real other blemishes beyond those. The second place, on the cruise, told me I had extremely dry skin and she recommended all these super hydrating products. The third place told me I have normal skin with slightly oily tendancies on my nose and chin. So how do I know who to believe? Is this supposed to be this frustrating? I am a make-up girl, not a skin care expert, and unfortunately I can see how all of those directives could be true depending on the day. |

Rep Power: 24 | You are right.. depending on the day the specialist saw you is what your skin was doing.. It is important you find a licensed board certified specialist if you are wanting to really get skin serious. Developing a relationship with "your" specialist is key. By having your skin treated on a regular schedule you will know what you need to be using at home for maintance. It is very important you are comfortable with the treatments and the hands that are doing them.. The treatment room needs to be CLEAN and TIDY.. or do not have the service.. If the specialist is not cleaning her room... how in the world is she going to clean your skin???? Look around the room and at her hands, ask questions.. a lot of questions.. remember you need to interview your specialist..... Be sure you like what you see and hear before you agree to the treatment. _________________ Christine' Packin my leather for Nashville ![ This Message was edited by: fungirlz on 2002-10-29 07:50 ] |
