Saw it on a commercial and I just had to go out and buy/try it...

Well here's some info on it...
NIVEA SILKY SHIMMER LOTION w/Natural Light Reflecting Pigements (aka Mica)

Not only does it moisturize your skin, but it helps make your skin look better. It contains natural light reflecting pigments to even out your skin tone, giving you a natural radiance and subtle shimmer. It makes your skin look beautiful under any light. And with the trusted performance of Nivea moisturizers, your skin will feel silky and subtle all day long.

I tried it and really enjoyed the feel and look of my skin, it contains the mica that a lot of tanning lotion contain that make the skin look shimmery...
Eventually it would be nice to see a tanning lotion company come out with a similar product...

I used a tanning lotion with mica the other day on my body and Lustrous in my face...

I went blind for about a day. I think I rubbed my eyes after applying the mica-filled lotion. I literally could not see and wanted to gouge my eyes out because they hurt so much.

Be careful when applying.

Swedish Beauty has had a wonderful productt out since before Nivea!!!! And it't WAY BETTER. It's called moonstone with shimmer. Look on Swedish Beauty's website. There is one I haven't tried yet by Synergy Tan as well. It's really neat packaging and it's called Come Hither Shimmer!

1.Good feeling,smooth,soft,fine-texture and the like.
2.Natural gloss.
3.Transparency.

CHARACTERISTICS OF Y'S MICA
* Very thin
* Flat and smooth surface

* Good skin adhesion
* High spread
* High transparency

Let us see what Websters says..
The dictionary defines mica as "A class of silicates having a prismatic angle 120o, eminently perfect basal cleavage, affording thin tough laminae or scales, colorless to jet black, transparent to translucent, of widely varying chemical composition, and crystallising in the monoclinic system".
In brief, mica is a generic term applied to a group of a complex aluminosilicate minerals having a sheet or plate like structure with different chemcial compositions and physical properties. All micas from from flat six-sided monoclinical crystals with a remarkable cleavage in the direction of the large surfaces,which permits them to split easily into optically flat films, as thin as one micron in thickness. When split into thin films, they remain tough and elastic even at high temperature.
What makes micas so important to command such a unique position ? Because it had been gifted with exceptional values. It possesses some of the most outstanding combination of chemcial, physical, electrical, thermal and mechanical properties which are not found in any other product.
