I am in my mid 30's, and have had more trouble than ever with my skin...very oily, and prone to break outs.I have thyroid disease, and am in peri-menopause, so I am fairly certain hormones are playing a part in it.(I feel like I am having a constant hot flash!!)HRT is out of the question, as I have had a history of blood clots.(Menopause is gonna truly suck for me!!!).Any suggestions on what to do to help sop up the oil slicks, and, what products do you reccomend using,if any, on the face for tanning? How about make-up? Thanks for your help!!

Let us first ask you what is your normal routine for skin care and lets go from there..
Tell us what you do when you wake up to begin your day for your skin..

Ok....In the morning, I have been using a new product from Loreal-Pure Zone cream cleanser(made specifically for oily skin) and pore-tightening astringent.I follow with a skin balancing moisturizer from Neutrogena, and John Abate eye gel.At night,I take my makeup off with Pond's makeup remover wipes, followed by washing with either Dove for sensitive skin(reccomended by a dermatologist!), or John Abate cleanser and toner for oily skin. Then I use a retin -A cream prescribed by doctor, and the eye gel.I exfoliate once or twice a week with John Abate face polisher..thanks again for taking time out to help me!!

Try this.. you are combinding too many different products in our opinion..
Stick with JA seems this is a good system for oil control..
When you wake up in the morning.. do not rewash.. just use the astringant (toner).. your face is clean from the night before though you have a little oil from the night.. you do not need to rewash it.. just freshen it with the toner..
Stripping the mantel (top layer of the skin) is too much action for the skin.. you are probably creating more oil by washing too much..

Go down to exfoliation about every 7-10 days on the face for awhile.. try this and see if this doesn't help..
As far as using the dove for sensitive skin.. if you choose this.. be sure you keep the soap in a closed container in the bathroom.. unless it is a pump bottle.
Bar soaps in a shower collect germs when kept moist....
be sure you cover all products used for skin care..
Do not share your soap with the "body".

Try using a rice paper for blotting the extra oil during the day..
Be sure your foundation contains no mineral oil.
Use an oil blocking powder for the final touch on your make-up..

How much water do you drink per day?

Do you eat alot of meats?
