Rep Power: 23 | I have had a bottle of BBR for a while now, and I remember it being very think all the time...I rememeber people saying that it was a thick lotion.. I just used some the other day, and the lotion became less thick than it has been.... Is the the DHA breaking down in the lotion? Is it alright to still use it? Will it not work as well? Thanks Melty |

Rep Power: 23 | Heat lower the viscosity (thickness) of any liquid substance. Think about honey or motor oil. They move very slowly and are super-thick in cold and room temperatures but when they are heated they become thinner are they move around more easily. I've read posts saying that runny lotions have lost their effectiveness, but I've never read an explanation as to WHY this is so. |

Rep Power: 24 | I think that it is because the heat can disrupt the properties and change the mixture.. We have seen people use "old lotions" and get very very bad white blotchey spots.. and those take a long time before you can get them to stop and go away.. When in doubt.. rule of thumb is pitch it.. You wouldn't eat old or heat tampered food would you..it may cause you to have a bad reaction.. (unless it was old wine.. and then you may have a very goooood reaction ) It is better to be safe than sorry me thinks.. But remember I am picky picky..things need to be just so for me... ( I throw away things people would never think of pitching)... Like I said better safe than sorry.. If you are still in question Melty.. Call CT at 1-800-SUNCARE they'll let you know for sure.. njchica...thanks for the "science" behind the question of why it gets runny... we always enjoy knowing why something happends........ xoxxox Happy Sunday Morning Everyone..
