and I mean it!! Posted: 8/21/02 9:00a -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was a bit taken back on a few of the posts that were made this morning by one of our new people here on Tan Talk. Com this morning.. After reading one placed in our Skin Care regarding Eric not sending out samples to this individual.. he then turned around and smashed JA after Frank gave the guy his phone number and said “call me”.. after Tara ( who is WONDERFUL!!) sent him out an information package along with a video tape on their product line.. why?? Because he didn’t get any “samples” he was upset.. He is not yet open for business.. though he did show proof of a lease on a space.. It is posts like this that keep the manufacturers away from our on line community. Trust me they have said this 100 times or more..” they won’t get involved because the on line community is full of so much “crazy non productive BULL”…. I understand that “trying” a product before one buys it is important.. That is where developing a relationship with a distributor comes in.. Our industry is very different in its trade shows.. as I’m sure you all will agree.. Your rep. through a distributor can direct you on your needs to set up a salon.. The distributor can sample you on products till the cows come home if they see fit.. Posting to manufacturers what you want..and when you want it just plain crazy.. and it hurts us here.. Please consider this before you post these nasty statements to people who are willing to be involved with us. They are developing new products each and everyday They are meeting with their Chemists and Board of Directors to ensure we as “sellers” are getting quality goods. They are preparing for our national conventions. They are meeting with the FDA on getting approval on the products that will hit the market and ensure us new formulations to go one better for our guests.. They are watching their operations to be sure they run smoothly.. not ours.. we have to run our places ..they run theirs… They don’t have the time to send you off 2 little samples via over night express so you can open your doors.. That job belongs to a distributor.. Find one.. there are 100s who are awesome… Please understand I understand your frustration.. but find a solution.. Posting nasty threads does not get you free stuff… Find a distributor who will gladly work closely with you and HELP you make the right choices. I have a personal relationship with several leaders in this industry and it is my desire to see them interact with the on line sites.. They will not unless we get this stuff nipped in the bud. Eric is so busy, it took me a very long time for him to agree to work with me in the Skin Care Topic here.. he only has so much time to spread around.... and for him to have had to respond to this topic today was crazy.. but he stopped what he was doing because he wants us to come together.. he sees the value of these on line sites to us as an industry.. but…. It is a total disappointment to the “BIG GUYZ” when they see this.. they shake their heads and click OFF on us.. Please think before you go for the blood next time. I know you want to get open.. but find a solution.. don’t make problems.. PLEASE Tellin ya like it is.. Understand what you are saying and it was directed at me. If Eric is too busy..that's okay..but I only responded to HIS directive to request samples! Here on your site! Remember..Pineapple Exfolient...read what he said! It's your site. If he can't fulfill his promises then just say so! DO NOT call people LIARS and make fun of there requests. Just say you won't answer. Yes I gave some lip to JA and still believe it to be deserved. Read what I said. I've been in sales my entire life and a customer calling before opening is a "Gift" to be treasured. If you don't want anything negative said about your suppliers just let me know and I will comply! |

During your re-cap of my posts you failed to mention that I did attend the Vegas show where samples were "Literally" thrown accross the showroom floor. Because I refuse to lower my dignity to that point I am simply asking for "samples". Not whole bottles. Yes Eric is busy. I didn't ask him to stop sleeping. Thought maybe he had someone working with him. He is the one who said "ask for samples"! Again, re-read your forum Sincerely, Mark E. Northup |

I hear ya man... I am trying to explain to you that I understand your frustration.. but posts like these.. don't solve anything.. We dont have time to go read something 3 or 4 times.. we go with the "feeling" of the subject.. Let me send you some product I have if you can't seem to locate it right today.. PM me your address and I'll send it out this evening.. OK.. send me your address. I personaly felt you were hot around the neck when you posted this morning.. It hurts us here when this gets into a peeing contest.. We need Eric here and other "Big Guyz".. please understand.. C |
