Rep Power: 28 | Tasting the Waters: The Winners Real Simple testers sipped their way thorugh all of the major brands and flavors. The majority tasted artificial. “When you add vitamins and nutrients to water, it’s challenging to mask their taste,” says Gary Hemphill, senior vice president of the Beverage Marketing Corp., a research and consulting firm. “And when you try to make these drinks without sugar or artificial sweeteneers, it’s even more difficult to come up with a pleasing flavor.” Guess what? The 2 brands that testers liked best also had the highest calorie counts. 1. Vitaminwater by Glaceau Of the 11 available, the favs were Stress-B lemonlime, Rescue Green Tea, and Multi-V Citrus Frost (50 calories per 8 ounces.) 2. E2O Energy Water by Hansen’s Of the 8 flavors, Grapefruit and Green Tea came out on top. (10 cal. Per 8 ounces for the colorless waters, 40 for the colored waters.) Now I won’t post all the runners up, but now with the facts as presented you have no excuse to avoid water intake. Do your body and skin a favor and drink, drink, drink some type of water. Right Christine’ ? |

Rep Power: 23 | Here's a fun site that covers everything liquid. http://www.beveragenetwork.com/ They review all kinds of products, not just waters, but also sodas. See my post under Water Part 1. I've been working with a Nutritionist over the past 6 months and water consumption has been one of the areas she is really stressing I need to work on. FYI - She is highly against the Vitamin waters. According to her, their claims are over stated and some products can actually be dangerous to some prople. I think she's referring to the ones that have some of the questionable herbs, not just vitamins. Anyway, just thought I'd post what an "expert" told me. |
