Or does tanning make the blemishes (even small ones or ones still beneath the skin) briefly glow like a neon sign after you step out of the bed? I noticed this last night when a blemish (that I knew was there but was beneath the skin's surface and not visible to the naked eye) was glowing pink after tanning. It fades within a half hour or so, but what causes this, out of curiosity?

any scar, or pimple lying beneath the surface will become more noticeable with the heat and the rays beacuse your pigment in that area has been affected somehow from the underlying problem. when tanning; your skin color is getting darker and so will all the little impurities such as scars, zits, pimples, and pores. people think they can cure acne or just a zit with tanning, the only thing tanning does is temporarily dry out ur skin, and the redness from acne blends in better with the surrounding skin, but u can do more harm then good. when u tan ur hair folicles may shrink and in turn will cause a blockage to the pores, then giving u a zit.
