Rep Power: 24 | During the later 40s, 60% of us women begin to experiance changes in our skin. Reduction in our estrogen and hormonal functions reduce collagen production. The skin begins to thin.. we begin to get lines..our skin is more sensitive and we bruse easy. Some woman may increase in oil production..and even get acne..sort of like when we were teens.. Others have a hard time balancing between the two.. Supportive tissue is lost..and this can lead to dilated blood vessels and even brown patches.. But this is time in our life when we are AWESOME!!! Trust me.. it is better than ever for most of us in our lives.. The care of skin over 40 is complex though ,and each must be cared for individualy and specificaly.. If your skin has become sallow.. gentel exfoliation to rid the face of dry dead cells.. the dry areas are due to sebaceous glands not being stimulated. DRINK WATER..water is key for women over 40.. lots and lots of water girlzzzz... The more water the better the skin... If your pores are enlarged professional products are the answer. In home care must be done every single day. Age spots, dryness, ruff texture, lines, wrinkles hyperpigmentation and loads of other problems are triggered by age. Find a licensed certified Aesthetician to develope a program just for you if you are over 40.. Look good Feel wonderful.. "40 something" is a great time in my life.. I say...................... Look good and enjoy maturity.. Love, Chris |

Rep Power: 24 | Some women find themselves increasing in oil when their body begins to change around 40.. Aint' life grand!!!! ! The oil settles in our pores and this can lead to clogging with dead cells and bacteria. some of us call this getting zits! and if your 40..zits have no place on your face. You must have consistency in your skin treatments. this is a requirement for anti-aging beauty.. ( or at least to slow the process down a bit ) Rule of thumb..keep your hands away from your face.. Bacteria on your hands can make little problems big ones quickly.. Stress activates acne.. this is known as excoriation or stress trauma.. picking or scratching the skin can lead to long term damage and scares. Alot of people believe that trying to remove bacteria in a blemish (zit) helps it to heal.. the fact is that it slows down the healing process..and can cause holes in the skin if the extractions was done wrong.. Using professional products will help you battle the aging symptoms. Look into having regular facial treatments.. This will help. |

Rep Power: 24 | Dear Baby.. time waits for none of us.. but yes there are things you can do now to help your skin stay wonderful. Your doing the right thing by drinking all that water.. Always use products on your skin that won't clogged the pores. be careful not to over exfoliate the delicate tissue on the face, throat or chest area. Never tug or pull at the facial tissue.. and be very careful to always use an eye make-up remover. the eye area only has 7 layers of tissue so you must be extra kind to this part of your face. Avoid over exposure to harsh elements on the face. When cleaning your skin use tempid water and rinse with cool to cold water.. Never use HOT water on your face. But you may apply steam when needed to cleanse out pores. Use an oil free moisturizer am and pm to keep the skin soft and smooth. If you can find a board certified aesthetician in your area and go have a facial about 3 months. Hope this helped. C |

Rep Power: 26 | Christine: I'm confused about this topic because I've never met a woman who "admitted" to being older than 39. LOL Now for a "serious" question. Since our skin "thins" as we age (mine is paper thin since I am older than dirt! LOL) are there any products that counteract this process? I notice that I "cut" my hands when I work on sunbeds much more easily now and my bald head is much more sensitive to UVR. Don "Who Is Getting Better, Not Older" Smith |
