Chippp, you have be asked polietly on several occasions to either back up your crap or stop it.

Enough is enough. If you feel you are wronged then be it. Your posts will be monitored closely.

Is there any printed info.salon owners can keep in there salon to help deal with customers coming in freaking out about some kind of rash they have and the Doctor
(family practioner)says they got it from tanning?I keep a very clean and sanitized salon! But why would a customer believe a owner over their Doctor??? Any Input Welcome!

Freeman The only info I have been able to locate is the information provided in the trade magazines or through the tanning certification training courses. I had a client last year whom had the disease show in the above posts, he was in the middle of my salon telling other clients that he got that from tanning in my shop. I had to explain to the client that it was a fungus that could be caught from anywhere. But of course clients take what they see at face value, not researching what is underneath that was the cause of the problem. I make a lot of copies of info from the trade mags and practically stick it in their face.....while I thinking it would make me feel better by smashing it in their face People are stubborn no matter what you tell them you are not right because there friend Peggy Sue who has a friend Thelma who has a friend Mary that caught the fungus from a bed. Another suggestion is to screen copy info that is posted here, makes copies and pass out to your clients. You can't be proven wrong when you have other tanning salon owners backing you up. I WITH YOU MAN~~

Freeman-

We have pamphlets (I believe through SmartTan) that come out every now and then regarding different aspects of tanning education. I know that there was one on "Sun Spots". Perhaps try their website, and see if you can't find some on backorder, perhaps? Just a suggestion - I know that they are out there, keep looking!

love, alarris

If these white spots are indeed "sun spots" it's not a big deal, and they are not a result of tanning beds. Chipp must be on a crack binge. People who don't use tanning beds also have this problem. It is not hard to fix with the use of proper remedies such as Arrest and even a top notch dandruff shampoo such as Selsun Blue aplied to the scalp (where it orignates) and to the affected areas. What sex has to do with it is beyond me unless you are using someones skull as a sex tool. Stand up are great, I have one, but properly cleaned tanning beds and towels are not the root of the problem. Chipp? Do you have ETS standups? (Couldn't resist)

Not meant to insult those out there who might use your craniums during nocturnal activites........... Point being, Chipp seems to be into a vertical tanning advertising scheme. Properly cleaned laydown units are not a cause of these condition.

O.k. I need some further education myself apparently. I was under the impression that you could spread the fungus from person to person. Something about sweat and skin contact. I do not know if I should start a new post for this one or not. I had a salon owner call me the other day and tell me her client devolped a white blister on her leg. The client further said she felt like it was from tanning and that when she shaves her leg it makes the blister bleed. (Yuck sorry about the details!!) SO the salon owner called me asking if I knew what could be going on. She said she had heard that certain forms of skin cancer start as white blisters. I was dumbfounded at what to say. I suggested maybe she had got poision ivy or something. Anyone had expirence with this before?
