I am wondering what your vitamin regimens are.... (since we're discussing food choices and water, this is the next step I guess)

I was taking an extra-strength multiple vitamin for awhile in the morning on an empty stomach and it just made me feel like I was going to puke every day. So I gave up for awhile...

I've been so busy and stressed out lately that I popped into the Vitamin Shoppe to buy more Zone bars and I also picked up some more vitamins.

There were so many choices!! Stress forumula, joggers formula for very active people, women's formula, etc... I liked all of the special formulations but they all required that you take 3 pills throughout the day and I'm lucky if I can remember to take it once. I wound up with the basic "one-a-day" multivitamin supplement.

What do you guys use?

I take one of each of these a day:

multivitamin
glucosamine/chondroitin
fat metaboliser
copper supplement (3 mg)
tyrosine supplement

The multi and fat metaboliser are provided by my trainer. The rest of them are from GNC

a fat metabolizer???? what ingredients does it contain??? is it some kind of ephedra product? I've never heard of this.

TanInCA 04-21-2002 08:22 PM

No, it doesn't have ephedra in it (or at least anything I can identify as ephedra) and it doesn't make me feel like I'm on speed the way some of the metabolisers do. This one has in it:

Niacinamide
Pryidoxine Phosphate
Choline Bitartrate
Inositol
Taurine
Methionine
Betaine HCl
L-Camitine

as the active ingredients.

I take a B-Complex Stress Formula, but it is recommended to take WITH meals.

THere are so many to pick from out there.

Remember a gel cap is the best to take.
Some are incased in a coating and your body can't break it up.. they just go right through your system.

Over the age of 25 we as women need our B complex. B6 and B12 play a big role in how we feel.
Vitamin E is a must.. 200 mg per day everyday..
C about 500 mg is important.

Our body will only use what is needed then the rest is put through the waste system.

I like Flintsones.. ... No joke.. I eat three a day.. and take extra E, C..and a B complex..

you have to be careful with how much vitamin E you take, though.... Vitamin C is water-soluble and you can't overdose on it. Your body will just "flush" the excess out. But you can take too much Vitamin E and that is not a good thing.

What exactly is Vitamin E good for? My mom's friend told her to take it if she was planning on tanning because it was good at helping the skin with the tanning process, is this true or is she just confused?

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that works as an antioxidant. It basically is a free-radical scavanger. Free-radicals are found naturally in your body from your normal metabolism and also you can be exposed to them through environmental pollutants. Free radicals are the nasty little buggers that we think cause cancer; they also speed up aging.

Vitamin E also helps to protect your cell membranes and *possibly* help to reduce the risk of arteriosclerosis. (narrowing of arteries)

1 gel cap 200 mg per day of E ... Everyday..

It is apart of my everyday.. ..
