Rep Power: 25 | Ok, I am really going to try to cut back on soda, I am going to have my one soda for the day right here ,right now. This is my morning ritual, cereal, tantalk and a diet coke. But I have none at the salons right now and I am not going to stop and get any. We do sell bottled water so that is what I'll have....maybe I shoudn't take any money with me so I can't run to the gas station. As much as I may be kidding about this I really seriously think I am addicted to caffine, I have drank alot everyday ever since I was a small child (my dad is the same). So if I counsiously try to quit....at least maybe I'll cut back. Wish me luck (boy do I feel sorry for my girls,,,,I'm gonna be grumpy for a while) |

Rep Power: 23 | Good Luck Rio! Your body is going to love you for this I promise...you may have to pee quite a bit in the beginning but you get used to it after awhile! The condition I was talking about with regards to too much water is hyponatremia (low blood sodium). I think this mostly happens with athletes but apparently there has been 3 deaths associated to drinking too much water...I think the article I read was in People magazine? Stacey |

Rep Power: 23 | there is such a thing as drinking too much water.... aside from overworking your kidneys, you will actually start to dehydrate yourself and start messing around with your blood chemistry. but it's pretty hard for active people to drink TOO much water. we have a difficult time as it is, just getting ENOUGH in our systems. *swigging out of her water bottle* I never drink iced tea or soda... it's always cold water with a slice of lemon. If you think about it, a can of Coke or bottle of Snapple has like 100 calories. If you drink 4 or 5 of those a day, that's 500 calories!!! That's an hour's worth of hard running!!!! |

Rep Power: 23 | Rio - I used to have a hard time drinking water also. I found a solution , that works for me anyway. A slice of fresh lemon, lots of ice and a straw. I was absolutely amazed at the amount of water I would drink when a straw was handy compared to without one. Try just keeping straws handy. We keep a box of them at the salon. |

Rep Power: 23 | I feel your pain Rio- I love diet Coke too- no calories, satisfies sweet cravings. I have managed to cut back a lot though. I only drink it at home, I don't drink any at the salon. I flavour my water a bit at the salon and drink that all day. You probably don't need the caffeine as much as you think- diet coke isn't that high in caffeine. I honestly don't notice the difference if I don't drink it; it's just the taste I crave. I don't eat candy or cake or anything like that, and I think that's why I crave the diet coke. I wish you luck- definitely try flavouring your water at work. Even add a packet of sugar twin wih your lemon. I know, chemicals, but a little bit makes it taste so much better and it will make you enjoy your water enough to stay away from coke, which has many other additives. Using a straw helps mix your drink. |

Rep Power: 23 | Try to NOT use the artificial sweetener (aspartame). It is probably more addictive, and definitely more dangerous, than the sugar or caffeine. Read the label of your diet drinks, sweeteners, cereals, vitamins, etc. |
