Rep Power: 23 Bronze Star will become famous soon enough
Who tells their clients to exfoliate?

We do. We recommend to exfoliate once a week and to follow up with a really good, indoor tanning after exposure moisturizer . We sell high quality salt scrubs in yummy scents, chock full of essential oils.

Yes, exfoliatingis a great way to have that healthy glow and keep your skin prepared for the best tan ever.

I do recommend it. I use the JA saltglow. Love that margarita (lemongrass) scent.

I am afraid to exfoliate!!!!!!!!! I am afraid to rub off my tan!!!!

Although I did have a rather harrowing experience post-bath with a towel and my skin rubbing off..... I took desperate measures to halt this by smearing myself in baby-oil gel. (but it looked so cool on the shelf in Target!!!!)

and today I was kinda slimy in the shower but my skin didn't RUB away.... will exfoliating take the tan off? or will it just prevent the skin from SMEARING off? UGH.

I don't really follow you with the Skin Rubbing Off.

Exfoliating will rid your body of "dead skin cells" Which by the way do not tan. Keeping the dead skin off will give your new skin a better tan.

i exfoliate often... it gets rid of dead skin cells and and helps tan fresh cells (right?) and my skin always feels awesome after i do it too i usually exfoliate b4 i tan... so i don't feel like i am rubbin it away lol (like when i shave b4 i tan, i'd rather do it b4 i tan than after)

Exfoliation: The removal of dead skin.. The Key word is "DEAD". Snakes shead once a month... We as humans must help the process along..

Why remove dead cells? Isn't there supose to be a layer of dead skin to help protect us? The answer here is yes.. but we have an overabundance..and an overabundance can cause the skin to clog up with natural body oils, dirt, and debris.

We exfoliate for several reasons.
* It perks up color and clarity
* uncloggs folicals and pores
* allows moisturizers, creams, lotions, serums..etc.. to penetrate better.
* Improves skin texture and makes it smoother.
* and helps to increase our circulation..

The problem is that it is easy to over exfoliate..
People who use an abrasive scrub daily end up with sensitivity and skin thickening with time.

Every 10-14 days is plenty to exfoliate when using a scrub.

Putin a bowl 2-3 table spoons of salt with 1/4 cup shower gel. (your favroite one)
For delicate skin use less salt.
For men double the shower gel, to help increase slip on the hairy areas.
Do not use a hard soap this will dry the skin.

Shower with warm tempid water.. Rinse very well.. you should feel no girt on the skin after rinsing off.

Pat dry and use your favroite body moisturizer ..

See how soft and fresh your skin is?
This is to be used as an exfoliant on the body.. NOT THE FACE..face is too tender for this treatment.

Try it.. see the results.

Different types of exfoliation can be done right in your own bathroom.

Above we talked about a "scrub".
Let's look at the difference between a Body Scrub and a Body Polish...

The scrub is used with a gel base in it.
A polish is a cream base.
A polish has more punice.
oatmeal, ground up nuts, enzymes, ground pearls..The granules size will make a difference on the comfort level of your polishing treatment.

Polishes can be messy to clean up..they don't rinse off easy..but the advantage of a polish is you only have to do it about every 21 days for a beneficial treatment.

If you prepare your polish with harsh granules the base ingrediant should be heavy and creamy.

If you plan on scrubbing/polishing the face be sure it is a gentle one, perticulary if it's available for retail purchase.
I personaly do not like granular scrubs for the face..I feel they are too aggressive for delicate skin. Facial exfoliation is a different subject matter.
Remember our face includes the neck and chest.

note: Mens chests are different.. meaning a man can scrub from the neck down..

Lets shine....
Have a great day..
