Rep Power: 0 | MJ...your client sounds like she has "hypersensitive skin" which makes her unique. In the majority of cases, when an individual reacts to a skincare product the leading culprit is FRAGRANCE. This is one reason why you see "hypoallergenic" products that are "fragrance free". The second leading cause is the PRESERVATIVE SYSTEM, typically used by manufacturers that use botanical extracts in their products. Most infrequently, it is a particular BOTANICAL ingredient to which the individual is allergic. I have also heard that some products that contain Mica can cause a reaction. These are typically "shimmer" products. Your client could also possibly be using another product that is making her photosensitive, such as her perfume as an example. Make certain you tell her to come in with freshly cleansed skin before she tans. |

Rep Power: 23 | Thank you toni, But someone bumped this post..it is from 2002. Ahh was I naive. Interesting end result on this one..maybe it will help the new guys. I will keep that in mind should I have another client with real allergies. She ended up buying a bottle from Nailco. Told me her daughter was hair dresser..and she got it for her. Actually a few. After they no longer had caltan in the lobby shop...she was busted using WALLMART crapola. some spray oil. This woman who had me running around like a chicken with it head cut off to help her. With stories of horrible rashes and ungodly burning sensations ..she was soo allergic. I even gave her discounts on the samples to find the right one for her. :eyeroll: and that is what she does for me. She was using a crappy spray indoor/outdoor oil. Full of very things he claimed to be allergic to. Well she accidentally left it in the room..after being asked 2 times what she was using...that whatever it was it was a B*tch to get off and for her to Please refrian from doing using it. Each time she said "nothing I am allergic to almost all tanning lotions...you member?" Anyhoooo the next time visit after leaving the crapola in the room...She came in asking "did anyone find my lotion? I left it here last time I was in." :noooooshedidntface: So I told her I would check. ** Some of you know where I am going with this ..don't you. hehehe I sold her another package.($25.00). Took her money. (cash..) And she asked again about the lotion. I opened the drawer...pretended to look for a minute. And pulled out her lotion the note attached to it. A bill for $5.00 stripping fee for the acrylics...for using "banned lotion" in my salon. It also stated that fee must be paid before any unused visits are used.In other words her packages was frozen.(It's on my new memebers form that she signed) Guess what happened...anyone??? _________________ Supacalafragelisticexpialladoughshush MOD [ This Message was edited by: MJ on 2004-02-27 20:25 ] |

Rep Power: 23 | Gold star for salon pro!! She paid it that day .... reluctantly(let's just say she was not happy)tanned and left in huff. Came back after a week or so used her package up. Then disappeared... she came back last Spring and has been one of my nicest clients. Pretended like nothing happened and now purchases her lotions from me. Funny how things work out...isn't it? Moral of the story: If you don't follow your salon policies..who will?? _________________ Supacalafragelisticexpialladoughshush MOD[ This Message was edited by: MJ on 2004-02-29 11:57 ] |

Rep Power: 0 | Allergic to Aloe? Really? Wow! We have several clients with allergies, and they have been using Facial Rays, from Soakin' Up the Rays, as an all over accelerator, with excellent results...it is made especially for sensitive skin, but it does contain aloe vera gel... |
