Rep Power: 24 | What is the benefit of using aloe as a base in a tanning lotion? I have tanners that come in and tell me that at another salon they tanned with only aloe and burned badly. Can someone tan with only aloe and if they do, what is the result? |

Rep Power: 23 | Aloe Vera is very good for the skin, as chippp states, its moisturizing, and soothing... My grandma in florida always had aloe plants outside, and we would break the leaves, and put it all over our bodies, after being at the beach all day.... the only bad thing about it is when use the most natural form,(breaking the leaves), it smells REALLY BAD, like B-O, or sumthing...lol |

Rep Power: 24 | Laurie, the pure extract of aloe is very enriching to our tissue. The list of its benefits go on and on. Aloe has been use for centuries in many cultures for healing. for example.. Drinking an 8 oz glass of water with one tablespoon of pure aloe mixed in it help with disgestion and purification. Meltabutter is correct it sooths the tissue and helps protect while it helps restore the balance of moisture. I know of those Aloe plants in Florida.. our back yard is home to several that are very old and huge.. Tanning with just plain aloe? I would think the aloe would be used as a base for other ingredients involved in a product to allow penetration and smoothness over all. Remember certain properties will only mix with a gel base while others will only mix with a cream.. Alot of products now feature the spiral matrix.. allowing for more ingredients to become part of one product. Remember about 5 years ago we use to teach our tanners to layer their product first with a gel product and over lay it with the cream based one?. Now many manufactures have made it simple to have a two in one system. Awww progress... Got to love it. I will post for you later on some very good recipes feauturing the Aloe.. You may want to try them right in your very own kitchen. Skin care you can eat.. |
