My Myst solution remaining

Hey Everyone,

I posted in Sunless forum too, wasn't sure of the best spot.

I have a My Myst that is giving me some problems. It leaves about 1/3 of the solution in the cartridge, even after the purge cycle.

I didn't understand what my staff was complaining about, because I went and tested it, and was using cartridges with water, and the water sprays great and the cartridge is just about empty at the end of the purge.

I finally used a few actual cartridges and saw what they were talking about. I guess the consistency of the solution is a lot different than water, causing the issue.

I took the whole spray housing apart, and all of the tubes, and barbs, and connections related to the solution, and all was clean. I was able to blow air through all of them, and I could see right through the straight connections.

The cycle time is 15 seconds from top to bottom, and bottom to top. Running pressure is right about 45. I tried increasing a little, but that didn't help either.

It sputters with solution, but sprays great with water. Even when not sputtering, it leaves this extra solution. Customers are not pleased, so I have left the unit down.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Re: My Myst solution remaining

Pieces of the foil from the cannister can get lodged into the the piece that punctures the foil when you insert a cartridge. Run a session without a cartridge and while it's spraying tightly hold your finger over the nozzel. This will force anything out of the nozzel. You may need to do it a few times.

Re: My Myst solution remaining

A back purge.... Done soooooo many times. Raised pressure to 90, back purged, but in addition, took all of this apart, including the needle. There are no clogs or foil I can find anywhere!

Mystic has been great about sending me pics, etc. of what to take apart. I had the whole housing apart. All tubes, connections, etc to inspect and clean.

Just doesn't make sense, and I am many hours into this thing...

Thank you, though. I wish it was just a simple back purge.

So you did check the filter below the nozzle housing?? The foil always builds up there.

Re: My Myst solution remaining

I have had everything apart. Not just your usual maintenance stuff. The filter is fine, the flow disc is fine, the puncture tube is clear, all of the "barbs" or fittinggs going in and out of everything are fine.

I have now replaced the solenoid, I had a brass one, Mystic said the new stainless steel one is much better and my old one may have been seized up. That made it worse... I then put on a new $400 nozzle. It wasn't spraying at all then, just stronger air. I opened the tower to inspect things and when I closed it the spray started coming out again, but just sputtering.

Pressure is remaining steady at 42-45 per Mystic's recommendations during the cycle. I am at a loss, and this thing has been down over a week now.

I am thinking about running a test without the filter to see if maybe its just bad.

Or I am thinking one of the tubes may be pinched or clogged somehow? Or even a hole in a tube? I think that would affect pressure, but I don't know where else to look.

Thanks for any and all advice.

Re: My Myst solution remaining

U r not getting power to solenoid . Most likely a lot corrosion in cord going to solenoid . Replace it.
