Rep Power: 0 | We have had a number of clients coming from other salons tell us about people catching herpes form tanning machines. They say it infects peoples backs.I looked up facts on herpes. It lives for a min. of 18 hours on a hard surface and will infect normal intact skin, it also can infect any part of the body, not just mouth and genitals. And I see "lucasol" only kills herpes type 1.The old story you could not catch things from a toilet seat are totally out dated and not true. Some thing to think about. |

Rep Power: 0 | Tanning beds are a good way to catch anything. That's why the health department tells you to only use booths. We have been seeing a lot of people that caught herpes as well as fungus from the use of tanning beds. Tanning beds are designed for home use. |

Rep Power: 24 | Health Departments tell you to use booths?? It must be a Canadian thing, because we don't see that here in the states. In Illinois, we are required to clean the units after clients. The clients are not allowed to clean the units themselves. If you are so freaked out by all this Chipp, why are you in the biz? Germs are everywhere...it is your responsibility as a salon owner to see that they are minimized. |
