Well I can see peoples points that for sure, especialy when it comes to clients having to upgrade , however if your biggest beds are what is used most, I can totally see that backfiring, as people would have to downgrade.

Also if you have apointments, it gives your staff a chance to plan their sales day, check out customers profiles to see if they are needing more tanning sessions, check the customers lotions to see if they need more or if they haven't purchased any yet. If you pre plan your sales strategies, you are more likely to hit them too then just flying blind. I believe the size of a salon will dictate how well you can handle no apointments. I have many people walk in off the streat with no apointments, and many won't wait even a few minutes for a bed. Could you imagine how frustrated they get if it happens often? People live busy lives and many DONT have time to wait around or want to. They want it RIGHT NOW. And they can get it when they want it if they book it. No need to go tan at the competition then.

Celtic I thought that too, then i did it and sales and lotion increased by 20%
There is probably an old thread on here of me saying the above. You are right people live busy lives, however they are often so busy they run late or dont show up, causing you to miss valuable times to utilize the bed. There are alot of people who wont make appointments ( doctors on call, etc) and they therefore NEVER get to try the bigger beds. Or if they pop in late you are in such a hurry to stay on schedule you lack the ability to make a possible sale. As I said I am only a 7 bed salon.

I agree, when I first took over my Salon, the previous owner ran it on appointments,at that time we could only get 160-170 through on the busiest days,After 1 week of owning the business,I chucked the appointment book.I actually heard people in one of the big box retail stores talking about it the next day,but we went from handling 170 to 240 on our busiest days...70 more people WITHOUT the appointment book.Take that 70 extra people and calculate your PCA,its a no brainer.
