Rep Power: 20 | New Business Venture I'm looking to start a tanning salon from my garage. I'd like to start with a spray tan handheld and i was looking to see what the best system out there is. I want to tan my family, neighbours and their pets. I want the best spray system available out there for under $60. I know it will be the best out there. Because i'm doing it in my garage, i can open the garage door and have a breeze come in to dry them off. I was thinking i can give that air drying service for free. I may add a tanning bed as well. I read alot about High pressure beds and the BULBS they use are great stuff. Does anyone know where i can get one of these, i hear about the Magic and Matrix a lot even the MasterSun. Does anyone have one for sale? I'm thinking something like this in my area will dominate the market and i'll close every other salon down in my area. I'm willing to pay top dollar for one. So if you are looking to sell, i'm offering $350 for one. I was thinking of naming the salon Garage Tans, Bait Shop & Boutique. I would offer nice clothes for sale too. I have a lot of female cousins that are getting fat, i was going to sell their old clothes. I also have the perfect thing that will keep it busy even through the slow season (JACOB as you veterans call it) and it's added Hydro Massage Beds. The distributor was telling me how i can make $50,000 in the slow season with these beds. I can't believe you guys don't use these in your salons. I'd also have an all natural fruit squishy bar where they can buy grape, cherry and banana squishies. I have all the money to start it up right now, the $500 or so. Plus i have about 6 months backup in the bank. I estimate my bills at $50 a month. Any tips from the veterans on here? I am open to all feedback (just none that think it's a bad idea...) I've been researching this for a long time and i think i know everything there is to get started, been researching for approx 3 weeks now. Looking forward to all your comments.

Rep Power: 19 | Re: New Business Venture You are way off on the squishies, Grape and cherry sell well but banana is a loser. Drop the banana and go with grape, cherry and orange. I also wouldnt bring in lotions, they really dont work and cutomers dont want them. they will just sit in your garage/salon/bait shop/Boutique and no one will buy them. Also you are missing a huge part of the money here...Oil changes! Add oil changes and maybe car washes to you menu of services and you should be making at least a few mil by year 2. Also I dont know how big your garage is, but if you have enough room I would live in the garage to save on bills when you first open. |

Rep Power: 35 | Re: New Business Venture We joke about this but I actually know of a guy in town that got out of prison and put a tanning bed in his garage that he bought from a hair salon because he said he could make so much money off of it. He probably has webcams to go with it! UGH

Rep Power: 17 | Re: New Business Venture eileen is right, you could tape everyone in there and put it on the internet and then you could be managing a porn site and getting even richer than you are already going to be. oh, and dont waste your time cleaning anything, I would just let the customers do that. good luck with your venture, I wish you the best. If this works out well for you, we may follow suit. LOLOLOLOL!!! |
