As the January 20th Inauguration approaches, we should pause to reflect and understand the direction our Republic is headed.

Our House of Representatives is overwhelmingly controlled by Democrats and can effectively pass legislation without the input or participation of a single Republican.

The US Senate is also controlled by Democrats and is very close to the overwhelming majority whereby the input of Republicans may be ignored.

The United States will essentially be controlled by one group, known as Democrats, and led by a charismatic leader who was notably the most liberal Senator in a Senate controlled by Democrats.

The United States of America is transitioning from a Republic to a Democracy in 2 weeks. Please watch the following video for an explanation of the consequences of this change.

Your "awakening" will occur after Jan 20 when you realize nothing is getting any better for you. You gotta WORK and be successful for that. NO free ride in life... despite what socialists think.

I am successful and I work.But Im more worried about the people who support my businesses rather than myself.Without customers,my businesses won't exist.As for me,I personally netted 100K for 08'...I spent more on one CNC machining center than some do on a new salon.

I would hardley say that I was a "Failure" or I did not "Work" this year.Things are already good for me,but they would be much better with customers who have more money.

Our philosophys differ,yours works for you and mine works for me...so why should I change?So people like you and Jim can survive?I don't think so.I think its time you old farts assimilate to the "new" america, but remember times running out for you guys..literally.

Congrats on a decent 2007. If you couldn't deduct the CNC cost you might wind up owing enough income tax to finally p-iss you off. Oh well - maybe someday.

Move to a more affluent area so you won't have to fret about zero-dollar customers.

Utopia from the Greek Oo Topos; translation No Where. That is why there is no such thing. If you want your clients to have money to support you then you had better think about what the change really means.

We have been in the same place for 21 years in a very affluent part of Central Florida. We have constanly upgraded and stayed ahead of the trends only to see the area saturated with tanning salons, a weak economy, and fewer and fewer tanners for the past five years.

Most of the big spenders were in real estate, the others were bankers, where are they now? Victims of their own demise. Change is the only constant in the Universe and there are things that even Obama wont be able to control.

Creating more government jobs and bungling beauracracies wont provide your clients with the dough to spend with you. Gas prices will go back up, we just had a 23% increase in the price of electricity, an increase in insurance costs, food is going up and the economy is not.

You just haven't felt the Changes yet, but you will. Be prepared, bury that 100K in your back yard, it might buy you a loaf of bread one day.

Look Jim, the Republican Oligarchy effed up, for the last eight years of their reign. Why? Because "we" let them. Why did we let them? What other choice did we have? None, that's why. Obama was elected because he was the only candidate not talking "more of the same" and talking "to the people" rather than down to them. You can cling to your guns, religion, lofty morals, false sense of security, and your fantasies of achieving the imaginary American Dream; but I think most of us would rather turn the page.

Guns, religion even lofty morals are all red herrings in that retort. You were correct in saying that Obama was elected because his rhetoric was aimed at the populus. He was elected on popularity and the inability of the 30 somethings to really look at a situation and make hard decisions.

He was elected by popular vote. Unfortunately, this isn't high school or college. We will turn the page, but none of us can be sure what is written there. Obama talked change, yet he has installed all the old guard in his cabinet. Let's see what he writes on that page after he raises his hand and swears to uphold the Constitution.
